Haruka wanted a child. He had never thought of himself as someone who would like to start a family someday, even though he kind of liked spending time with kids - Makoto’s little siblings were fun, even if a bit too loud sometimes. But lately, he had started to consider this, and not just because he knew Makoto loved children and would probably love to have his own family, it was something that Haru wanted as well, their family. But months passed and he still hadn’t talk to Makoto about this. It was silly, Haru knew, but everytime he tried and open his mouth, the moment he met Makoto’s eyes, he would avoid his gaze and blurt out the first thing that came to his mind - that they needed to buy more mackerel, the stray cats that he often fed would like it, that he needed another swimsuit - no, 5 weren’t enough. Why he could’t just voice this desire of his to his husband, he honestly didn’t understand. There was just something that weighted on his chest and kept him silent. So, it took quite a while before he decided that he shouldn’t avoid it any longer, and as they were having dinner, putting down his chopsticks, in the cozy silence of the kitchen, he looked at Makoto and after a deep breath he just said it. “Makoto, i want to adopt a kid.”
