❌ Why Switch 2 Might Already Be a Bad Deal for Sonic Fans
Yeah, the Switch 2 is coming. Yeah, Sonic games are definitely gonna be on it. But here's the TRUTH:
If you already bought Sonic games on Switch 1... you're gonna have to pay again.
No free upgrades.
No carryover saves. No loyalty rewards. Just MORE cost, AGAIN, for the same game you already bought and struggled to play at 30fps.
🎮 PS5 vs Switch 2 — The Harsh Truth:
⚔️ FeatureSwitch 2PS5💵 PriceRumored $400–$500$499 (standard)📈 PerformanceSlightly better than OG Switch4K, 60–120fps, next-gen ready🎨 GraphicsStill behind modern standardsTop-tier fidelity + ray tracing🌀 Sonic Game SupportConfirmed, but 30fps risk returnsFull performance, no slowdowns🔁 Backwards Comp.NOT confirmed, might need to rebuyMost games carry over
🌀 The Problem: You’re Paying Twice for Less
Switch 1 players supported Sonic through thick and thin:
Sonic Mania
Forces
Frontiers
Superstars
Origins
And what did they get?
Lower graphics
Constant frame drops
Missing effects & pop-in
30fps or worse in heavy scenes
And now? Switch 2 comes in and says:
“Hey, thanks for buying those games... now give us more money to play them again in slightly better graphics.”
WHAT?!
Meanwhile, on PS5:
✅ 60fps ✅ 4K visuals ✅ Fast loading ✅ Massive storage ✅ AND YOU ONLY BUY IT ONCE
💬 DO YOU AGREE WITH ME?
I personally got a PS5 and lemme tell you—it’s WORTH IT. You get tons of storage, so I never have to delete my Sonic games just to make room for a new one. I got Frontiers, Generations, Mania, Superstars—all there, all running smooth.
So seriously...
Would you really pay full price AGAIN just to play Sonic at “okay-ish” performance? Or would you rather play it ONCE, the RIGHT way?
