-------------------------- NR/649. A Scottish large silver sword brooch, hallmarked in Edinburgh and sponsored by M G who I believe may be Malcom Gray. It's a beautifully made piece and bigger than average at 4 inches in length very well finished and set with a small cabochon opal at the centre of the cross guard or quillions. It has a safety "C" catch and a good quality long pin, 2 inches long, it sits better with a long pin. This hallmark does not include a date letter but I would think that this sword brooch dates around the turn of the century.
