Been a little bit since I've posted much.
This isn't my usual topic, but I was busy with these...
A couple friends of mine are getting married, and instead of a normal wedding gift, I was asked to make them swords! (Because of a Valentine's Day night back in high school involving the Groom, myself, 80 McNuggets, and a scrap metal battle-axe)
The Groom requested a scimitar
This was originally a busted leaf-spring leaf out of my dad's pickup
I wanted to add a little more flair to this sword so it didn't look so plain, so I added a little copper inlay along the blade (which ended up being a huge pain but looks pretty good) and gave it a full hand guard
The finished sword has a blade 28 inches long along the curve and weighs 4.2 lbs (a little heavy, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
The Bride, being a fan of Devil May Cry, requested a much more extravagant sword: Rebellion!
This thing just about drove me insane, but it's done and looks pretty good to me
The demon skeleton crossguard is an amalgamation of tiny bits of scrap metal, massive weld beads, and hours and hours and hours of time shaping at the bench grinder, with a dremel, and with some burr-bits for the air-die grinder.
Rebellion has a 36 inch blade and weighs 8.3lbs, it's pretty beefy (the skeleton weighs exactly as much as the entire other sword lol)
Had to put my signature somewhere, I don't have proper chasing-chisels so they didn't turn out great, but that's why they're on the tangs where nobody can see them.
