Step brother. That's what the boy on the other side of the room was. He was only his step sibling. There wasn't nothing else going on between them and there won't ever be. No matter how much he wished that his lips could connect to his, or his hand intertwine with his fingers, or even their bodies locked together while they slept in the same bed, it wasn't ever going to happen. They were family now and dating a family member is just weird.
Who ever knew that gaining feelings for someone within a few weeks was even possible? Maybe he gained feelings from when they'd stay up all night and just talk about anything possible. Maybe he gained feelings when they'd goof around with each other. Maybe he gained feelings when he saw the other one smile. Maybe he gained feelings when their hands accidentally slipped passed each other. Maybe he gained feelings when they hugged for the first time. Maybe he gained all these feelings just by staring at him. He was everything he was looking for, sweet, funny, beautiful, and probably the most caring person you could ever meet. But, like he's told himself before. Step brother. That's all he was ever going to be.
"Have I ever dated anybody? No. Not yet." Keaton answered the boys question. His eyes studied his face when he nodded to his answer before his green orbs fell down to the boys lips when he started talking again.
"Well, I'm sure you'll find someone someday."
