This week we're at SXSW Eco!
We're lucky enough to be spending this week rubbing shoulders with the thought leaders and decision makers in the world of sustainability. From tech startups, to bloggers, to custom door manufacturers (ahem), we're all here to learn how to spread one message: how to sustain life on this planet, while simultaneously making it more enjoyable for us all.
At Crestview Doors, we realize that every decision we make from manufacturing to packaging, has an impact on our health, society and planet. While we strive to create increasingly sustainable products and processes, it is our duty and honor to keep you informed of and connected to our efforts along the way.
Highlights from the first day of the conference:
Beth Terry from My Plastic-Free Life
What started as just an experiment, turned into a life mission for Beth Terry. In pursuit of determining just how much plastic waste she alone was producing, she started collecting all of her plastic waste into plastic bags underneath her sink. Six years later, and she's down to producing just one filled bag of plastic waste in a whole year. Her message is not to say that we should all be reducing our plastic waste to one bag full, but to let us all know what we're capable of.
Pedro Vieira from Good Guide
Good Guide provides consumers with a 0 to 10 rating systems to help consumers quickly evaluate and compare products. Their mission allows us all to incorporate our personal values into our shopping habits - very helpful indeed!
Check back here on Wednesday for a re-cap of the entire conference!
