When unexplainable anomalies appear and begin to warp the world around her, Alphys discovers something she was never meant to know: the identity of the former Royal Scientist, and how he met his demise. Doctor W.D. Gaster vanished without a trace; he was erased from reality after an experiment ended in disgrace. Forgotten by the world, shattered across time and space—it’s like he never existed in the first place.

Congrats on publishing the fic!! I was so excited for it, and can't wait to read it later today! I admire the amount of work and effort you put into it, but please take a long rest and take care of yourself as well!

i definitely have been trying to take care of myself, that's partially why it took so long. my mental well-being has been rocketing up and down throughout the last few months, so i've spent a lot of time not writing and just trying to deal with myself LMAO, i'm honestly concerned that i'm resting too much...

regardless, i think writing this has been a really really good experience for me and the little bits of feedback i've gotten so far are already making me smile like a complete maniac ;u; seeing my effort bear fruit in the form of a story i'm pretty happy with so far is a really great feeling!! =)

chapter 2 of syat is now completely outlined + i drafted the majority of the dialogue!! it's definitely gonna be a LOT shorter than the first chapter... but not too short. good news is that it's gonna be preeettty dialogue heavy, which makes it quicker to write! hopefully you'll be seeing it soon...

extremely niche writing tip: i write all my drafts in all lowercase on notepad, and that has been surprisingly helpful for writing dialogue between sans and alphys...? basically, if i can still tell who's talking at a glance without the funny fonts and such, then i know my characterization is at least somewhat on the mark lol

there's a few exceptions to that all lowercase standard though. here's one in the form of a sneak peak...!

I read it and I gotta say I lobed it! The little details of the game dialog you tried to fit in naturally, the drawings and sans jokes, the little hints to what's to come (likeIphysicallyshoutedatfirstwhenAldidntrealizeshedidnttellg-kidhernameandthentheendinghappened ifdhdu), reaper birds "but nobody came" and error poem was nice, but how did you do the overlaying text effect? Anyway you better be proud of yourself, you deserve all the goodies! If it weren't like 3AM I would fan art mode.

AHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ;U; that little easter egg is probably my favorite in the whole chapter, i LIVE for details like that... there are a ton of secrets scattered throughout the chapter, and trust me, there'll be even more in future chapters >=)

as for the text effect, it was actually super simple! you can do a ton of wacky css stuff with ao3's work skin system—basically all i did was set the letter spacing to -5px lol. but... if you want to see exactly how i did it, why not try checking the code...? (_;¯})

also oh my god if you draw any fanart i would absolutely go insane?!?! if you do draw anything PLEASE PLEASE show me!!! i'd probably pass out.
