1. What inspired you to write the fic this way?
The idea of the story was inspired by a humble, little post that proposed a fic idea where Strand, being the thirsty idiot that he is, give Alex gifts; like her favorite coffee, pastries, innocent things you know? And iIhad dark!strand on the brain so I said “hey guys I’m to take this prompt and ruin it for you! :D”
Before SYDDYU, I had written in love with you(r voice), and that took the pov of Strand. So thought it was only natural for the pov of SYDDYU to be in Strand’s as well (with intervals of Alex and The Strand Institute Assistants to break it up).
5: What part was hardest to write?
chapter 8 amirite guys im so sorry college is kicking my ass
So far, the end of chapter seven, specifically the scene where Strand hurls the wine bottle at the wall in a fit of entitled man-pain rage, was the most hair-pulling inducing experience I ever had of fic writing. That scene was a PAIN to write and nothing I typed seemed to satisfy the image I had planned. Hell, I’m surprised to this day that it got written at all.
