oh the sylvaina au spawned by all those sapphic covers of EPIC the Musical...

the idea of Sylvanas as odysseus spending her journey remembering Jaina! penelope as young and bright and full of hope (like canon Jaina was before Theramore), clinging to that memory, trying to follow the ideas of mercy and peace- weeping as she breaks from it and into ruthlessness so she can at least see Jaina again even as a monster- only to finally make it home after so many years, and find tired worn-down Jaina still waiting for her, still buying her time with Sylvanas's war bow and a clever challenge only they know the answer to, holding onto hope just like always but now with grey hair and just that one streak of of her old self left from the long gone time when Jaina still smiled.

And Sylvanas is an elf who shouldn't have aged a day all those years, but she comes back to Jaina ashen and tearstained and marked with living death after traveling through the underworld to reach her...

that part in Would You Fall In Love With Me Again (the sapphic Anna and Chlowbreez cover) where it goes "Don't tell me you're not the same person! You're always my wife-!" and Jaina! penelope is cradling said wife's face in her hands as she almost half yells half chokes it, thumbing over those scorched tear marks that can't be wiped away while Sylvanas gingerly traces that one strand of gold left in her own wife's greyed hair
