Adjusting the lapel to his jacket, Rafael cast his gaze around the room, searching for any familiar face in that moment -- although he knew just about everyone in the room. Benefit of living in a small town, really. That small town could sure pull out the looks, though, he had realized that years ago, during his first outing at one of these events, and had only been more and more impressed as time passed. Sylvia, someone he had known for a long while as being stylish, was no different. “Some song,” he commented, letting out a laugh. “Were you the one who requested it?”

Although Jason had managed to avoid the dance floor so far that evening, it was on his way from the bar to the gallery that he nearly collided with someone else, and found himself steadying the drink in his hand, quickly looking over his own suit and her dress before realizing that not a drop had been spilled, letting out a quick laugh. "This is absolutely what I get for trying to cut across the floor instead of going around, huh?" Tipping back to glass, he finished off the rest of the wine -- maybe some liquid courage? -- before turning back to Sylvia. "I feel like I owe you a dance for the near disaster." One wouldn't hurt, right?
