In honor of the one year anniversary of America’s latest and far from greatest elected regime, a reading on nations and dreams. Joining us are: New-York based, Chinese-American author (of Sour Heart and more) Jenny Zhang; poet, scholar, artist Vanessa Angelica Villarreal, born to formerly undocumented Mexican immigrants in the Rio Grande Valley borderlands; the adorable and fantastic Californian painter and clay master Alake Shilling; performance artist and American Desi Symrin Chawla; and Gelare Khoshgozaran, an interdisciplinary artist, writer, translator, and editor (of contemptorary) who was born and raised in Tehran.
100% of sales of Jenny Zhang’s book Sour Heart will be donated to New York’s CAAAV/ Chinatown Tenants Union.
