So I'm wondering where X-Files is going with this.  In the 1990s suspicion about the government was bubbling under the surface.  It burst years ago.  We already know our government lied to us and we know exactly what about.  It's not a mystery any more.

Yesterday I finished watching what may be all of the cutscenes to Halo 4.  I observed two things:

1) When Dr. Halsey is telling the interrogator how the Spartans are the culmination of humanity and the result of planning, I thought, "Yup, she's a nut," but according to the Librarian this is completely correct.

2) When Cortana says that Chief will be paired with another AI, possibly even another "Cortana," she's adamant, "It won't be me." I don't think Chief would want a Copy-tana.  If he consented to work with another AI, it would have to be someone very different, but that AI would still have to have experience working with very unusual personalities.

LASKY: So how is Master Chief's new AI working out?

PALMER: Well, when we first installed it, the Chief really missed Cortana.

Peacekeepers were pulled from human prehistory and plunked onto starships.  Nothing in between.  From clubs straight to pulse rifles.  That means that they don't have any intermediate cultural traditions, not even intermediate military traditions.  Aeryn and Crais only know about swords because Luxons use them.  Their people never strapped on vambrances or fought in phalanxes or sailed on actual sailing ships on actual oceans.  They didn't witness the slow development of flying machines and their hesitant, stepwise effect on warfare.

...so they'd be like, "Wait, armor like on your body?  No, armor is what you put on ships" and "Jumping out of an aerodynamic machine using cloth and the atmosphere to reduce gravitational inertia?  No way would that ever work."

Which means PK vs ODST would be very interesting.
