Last night I went to a networking event for my friends' nonprofit and it went from polite conversation to shot-gunning cans of rosé in twenty minutes flat.

thinking about the new wuthering heights movie again and i really hate what they did to heathcliff. the movie portrays heathcliff as a mostly animalistic, imprecise brute (especially with his illiteracy!) and book heathcliff is anything but! heathcliff is intelligent and is very much a man of his time (an industrialist) and improves upon the misery of wuthering heights by replacing the drunken, laborious hate machine that is hindley with multiple other tenants who are not as hateful as hindley individually, but in some harmonious fashion generate efficient levels of misery and hatred towards each other requiring little effort from heathcliff himself

on the subject of fan works, do i have a favourite fic/comic/etc? it’s hard to pick, because this fandom has produced so much amazing stuff, but i’m gonna reiterate my love of “through a glass, darkly” by whatabummer. exactly the kind of fic i love to read; high concept, dramatic plot, and a focus on characterisation. also, gary and larry bein’ gay in the background. that’s the stuff. the second question asked what my favourite frame i ever posted here is, a solid and reasonable question that i... really should have been prepared to answer. but having reviewed the data, i’m ready to answer it - in the next question, ‘cause it ties into that answer! boom! synergy!
