Hi everyone!

I’ve been very absent from here the past year or so (I have an excuse, I promise - it was my last year of high school!) and had fallen into a slump in terms of being inspired or motivated to code. But now my summer break is drawing to a close, and I’m off to university in a couple of weeks - a new start in a completely new environment.

I’ve got some ideas for new themes, and I’ve been reading up on some web design-related things like Flexbox, which I’m really excited about using to code some really cool stuff. While university will likely be very busy, I hope to be at least a little more active here, and hopefully release something for you all soon.

And lastly, to anyone reading this, thanks so much for your support!

Hm. After all that work yesterday to fix the Tumblr Controls they seem to have magically reverted to how they were before. Maybe they were just testing it?

did you update this post? because I saw a link to an example of what you were working on earlier but it's gone now I think? but I liked what you were doing a lot!

Hello and thanks for your comments! You must have seen the example on my personal blog, where I posted about what I’m working on.

For anyone else who’s interested, I’m working on a fix for the new Tumblr Controls bar. You can see it working on a test blog for my latest theme here. I’m still working on it and would appreciate any feedback anybody has to give.

Updated Tumblr Controls

Hi everyone!

You might have noticed that Tumblr’s made some, let’s just say, not very nice changes to the controls on people’s blogs. Instead of more discreet buttons, they’re now a large, ugly, ill-fitting bar covering the top of the screen. 

This is what it looks like on my personal blog.

This hasn’t rolled out to everyone yet, I don’t think, but I’ve seen it and I’m working on a way to fix it.

Hello all! If you’re finding that the tumblr controls (message, follow, dashboard) aren’t showing up on your blog after installing the Call Me Newt theme, please reinstall the theme here as the code has been fixed.
