In a plane far far above the earth, a member of the crew came on to speak over the intercom.
"In the timezone we have just entered, it is 12 am on January 1st, 2012. On behalf of your pilots and crew, Happy New Year!"
Syn leaned closer to his husband, kissing him gently on the lips, a kiss which Nat deepened and returned.
"Happy New Year, Nat." Syn smiled.
"Happy New Year, Syn Walker." the bassist grinned, tousling his new husband's rainbow hair. The majority of the passengers were asleep. Syn and Nat were just too happy to drift off. The shorter man kissed Nat's cheek and rested his head comfortably against the other man's chest.
They were flying away to begin their new year with a new, legally recognized life together.
It would be everything they could have hoped for and more.
