He’s entered into his second year and the extent of his work has spread. Working with senpai, he can feel the change of his rookie status as well!
My experience working with my seniors has increased, and I feel like because of that I got to grow just as much. My long-awaited commercial shoot with Ryuuya Hyuuga was sooo nerve-wracking. I wanna get to be a big guy so that I can be a sensei, too…Since prep time for the commercial shoot was so long, I was sent to get some pork cutlet sandwiches, and while I was carrying them back Hyuuga-sensei praised me!
Check 01 - An Unexpected Pledge?
Recording still stresses me out, but if my partners (NOTE: he is referring to Ai and Natsuki) are my trusted friends then doing it’ll be easy. ‘Cuz they know my bad habits and things like that. During breaks Natsuki would leave and bring me a book. As I opened the cover, it had his signature and a message addressed to me. (Laughs)
Check 02 - “ＳＡＳＵＧＡ！”
It’s a sports-based variety show, but the premise of this day’s recording was for the performers to compete in a physical fitness challenge. Since I woke up early and did a thorough stretch, I got good results! It’s fun to get your body moving.

A power charge from a sturdy breakfast!
This day’s breakfast menu:
double ham and egg (using 2 of each)
sausage, served pan-fried
3 slices of toast
hearty vegetable consommé soup
a banana
I went to Ai’s place ahead of time and made up a simple breakfast that we ate together. But the food might have been a bit much - I got a ton of complaints that there was a lot of salt! And later he gave a detailed analysis on the way I eat my ham and eggs.
Check 03 - Full Power Chivalry!
In the commercial's plot, an ordinary salary man drinks the energy drink and transforms into the Prince of Swords; my role is the young man who helps the prince. Sensei wearing a suit is always the coolest, and I fell in love with his way of being a man of action all over again. Men let their actions speak louder than words!*
*(Note: Syo literally says he fell in love with Ryuuya's back [背中] all over again, but this I believe refers to the phrase/proverb he follows up with, saying men "speak with their backs." From what I gather, that phrase means to speak not with words but by turning around and actually doing something, and letting that action speak for you in a way that words alone cannot. It's a phrase that sort of captures a Japanese idea of manliness, so basically Syo is in awe of and admires the way Ryuuya acts like a man, I believe!)
Check 04 - A Lively Dinner
When I was having a bite to eat with Hyuuga-sensei, Tsukimiya-sensei and Natsuki came bursting in. It wasn't a coincidence or anything - it was like they came to check whether or not we were there. Though Hyuuga-sensei says it's a bothersome relationship, it really is cool to have a friend you've known a long time.
Favorite Item: Space Superman Majindaa
Since Sensei and I both had the next day off, we got together to talk about work and stuff like that at Hyuuga-sensei's house! And of course the Prince of Swords had to watch "Space Superman Majindaa: The Movie." I know all the lines by heart, but it's still fun no matter how many times you watch it! After all is said and done, the highlight [of the film] has to be the struggling hero's suffering! It moves me to tears!
Nutrition Drink Energy 2000
Running up, along the edge of a cliff - the appearance of a line of ultra energy drinks for men who live in the now. The combination of royal jelly and ginger, a flavor that intensifies and tingles the five senses. There's also Energy 1000, easy enough for a child to drink, and a gel variety too!
