Alleged video shows confessional of captured #Iran Revolutionary Guards snipers in #Syria.

A video on Youtube allegedly shot in Syria by the Free Syrian Army, shows the confessional of five captured members of Iran's revolutionary guards who had been sent to Syria to help with the violent suppression of protests in the city of Homs by the Bashar Assad regime.

The video shows five men dressed in black sitting on the floor against the wall, their sniper guns are also visible. The men say their name before one of the men reads out the confessional in which he claims their 'five member special unit' entered Syria on October 16th and with support from the Syrian intelligence forces the men contributed to the fatal suppression of protesters, including women and children in Homs.

The man goes on to ask the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei to order the 'return of all (Iranian revolutionary guards) armed forces  'back so we can also return to our families'. The video also shows close ups of the men's passports and identity cards. Iran has long been accused of aiding the Syrian regime in the violent suppression of protests in the country. Iran denies the accusations.

On the same day this video is released, Iran claims 11 of its citizens were kidnapped by an unknown group in Syria.

Syria says it has freed political prisoners detained during revolt

552 prisoners freed, according to Syrian state television source

» The second round of prisoner releases: Last month, the Arab League made a deal to free 755 detainees as part of a peace plan. Now it seems to have gone further, as the Arab League said on Monday it had secured the release of 3,500 total prisoners. However … it's possible they may just be getting detained outside of the view of Arab League observers. Last week, Human Rights Watch accused Syria of moving prisoners to military facilities, where observers are not allowed to go. Syria hasn't proven the most trustworthy government during the conflict.

United Nations: Nine months in, Syria death toll reaches new peak

Ten days after peace agreement, Arab League boots Syria out

Nov. 2 Syria, facing mounting criticism over its conduct in the wake of the Arab Spring protests, agrees to an Arab League plan to end the violence against protesters in the region. Despite this, little actually changes in the country.

Nov. 12 The Arab League suspends Syria from the organization after the violence against protesters continues despite the agreement. The country will remain out of the Arab League until it makes changes that respect the opposition. source
