Here's a serious question: How do (or did in the past) you feel about people giving you serious critiques that you didn't see the same as they did, or felt a little to critical on. I don't mean a troll critique were all they wanted to do was criticize your works or a fault on the image, but a real constructive critique that you realize that they didn't mean to put you down but it just did for whatever reason or just don't agree on?
Honestly? I’ve just learned to not take criticism personal, because it isn’t. My father tells me over and over that when someone critiques your work in a way that would normally ”put you down”, their problem isn’t with you, it’s with that certain piece of whatever you have created. It’s not with the one you created yesterday or the one you will create tomorrow, it’s with that piece, it’s not an attack.
I encourage people to give me feedback because without it I cannot grow as an artist. So if it’s harsh (as long as it’s constructive and not ”this sux”) I’m totally cool with it. :)
