time to rimworld
what happens when a system who really wants to see themselves in game, but can't play the sims due to a fear of glitches, doesn't currently have tomodachi life, and hasn't had an alternate life simulator come out yet, finds rimworld?
well, let's see.
start with crashlanded start. this is one of the richer saves, and only three people can be on board.
phoebe chillax will make it so threats come to us less often, but of course, there's always a chance that a super op melee expert will come and wipe out our save. thankfully the chance is lessened with community builder, and we selected a mode that allows us to savescum.
we're going to keep reloading until we find a seed that allows us to be on an island.
seed 1
okay so apparently the takoyaki seed was exactly what we wanted. guess naming a seed after a seafood is pretty good.
start halfway between cancer port (wasters) and ge-squku (humanoid pins) on the map. this will surely have no consequences whatsoever /s
actually nevermind this tile kinda sucks. we'll move a bit.
move closer to the pigs since there is a very nice river there. stone options kind of suck though.
enter the character generator. unfortunately, there's no customization, so we can't make exactly us. however, there is a randomizer, and we have a mod that allows us to choose what we want.
we will try to generate a pawn with shooting and cooking skills 7 each, plants skill 8, animals skill 5, and a few traits to match tamaki. we have 1000 rolls and if the generator gets to the maximum, it will stop.
it has gotten to the maximum. we can, however, change the setting.
let's try 50,000. it will take a bit to load the pawn, but it's okay.
after almost 6 minutes of waiting, we hit the maximum again with barely anything to show for it. let's make some consessions.
first step: removing traits until we only have three left. this could still take a while. i also forgot to set the gender pool to male.
another shitty roll.
animals isn't as necessary as some of the others on this list. though it makes hunting easier, it's not the most useful. so we'll start getting rid of it.
about 25 minutes later and it looks like we've had to remove all of the animals skill. we'll randomize one more time and then see what else we can do.
yet another shitty roll.
we could always make the required traits lower. let's try lowering it to 2.
do you see this? this is why we don't play rimworld that much. but it's there.
okay nevermind i just figured out how to switch it to pool. this will probably fix the problem
smdh. gonna put the required traits down to one and see what happens
woohoo! i mean, he isn't gay, which means the game will make him only romanceable to women, but it's whatever. i finally got a worth it character! ...he's pretty old, though? whatever, it's fine, it's not like he's going to die immediately. he also has decent construction and crafting, which we need. now we can name him! i won't name him the same name as our headmate he's based on as he's basically a completely different person, but...
you know what? i'll give him an english name. tyler will be good. we'll anglicize his surname to sky (the "ama" in amajiki)
cool! now we'll do the other two.
this one's going to be our social guy - except he'll be a genderbend, so she will be able to date sky. we'll also give him 8 melee and mining skills each and 15 construction (i know this sounds ridiculous but trust me). we'll also put a bunch of traits here.
aw man!
we'll keep the most likely traits here and try again.
shaking my head...
i could always make their age gap more appropriate for the possibility of a relationship! we'll start with 40 year age gap in either direction and narrow it down as we go.
and the game crashed... damn it.
let's try this again
we won't get the same character, unfortunately. but we can try something new with this.
