GEORGE OKENY, one of the newest official members of our American Family!!! HUGE S/O to the eye-grabbing, soul-inspiring George Okeny on his recently-acquired citizenship, a very important and long-coming step on his storied journey. Although he has been an American icon of the Fashion Industry for some time —- evidenced most recently by his work as the face of SEVERAL of Ralph Lauren’s recent campaigns (google him to see his brilliant work with his son Zola, who is himself already a ground-breaking member of the Family of African-American Male Models, becoming the youngest model to have debuted at New York Fashion Week in 2018 at only 5 months old… working with father George and Moms, Yanii Gough, also a successful model of Haitian-American descent.) . I have a warm spot in my soul for Mr. Okeny for numerous reasons, not the least of which is his difficult journey across the globe as Sudanese Refugee, making him one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan.” Check out what he wrote on his page: . “I’m so happy to announce that as of today I’m a United States citizen, I wanna thank all my family and friends who have been supporting me on this journey.
