How Close Is Science and Faith to Water and Oil?
The history of the principles of Science and the foundation of Faith is a rivalry that has them pitting each other for so long that they have become something akin to water and oil. Not entirely destructive sometimes, but always trying not to mingle. They do not necessarily close their eyes, rather they prefer averting them from the truth that each could bring to the sea of knowledge the world acquires. As petty as that sounds, they find it imperative in order to remain safe in their cages of declarations. Is Science and Faith truly water and oil? Not admitting to have no God is not saying there is none. Since the beginning of time, Science has refused to aid in the search for God. This is because believing on something intangible contradicts the very cornerstones that created the institution. Instead of getting into the straits to find the truth, they would rather not risk the calculated consequences brought by the theorized plunge. That is not to say they will never get there. Scientists have stumbled upon discoveries that either prove their hypotheses or completely stun them in their shocking revelations. The good thing about the present scientists is their bravery in admitting their bygone errors and opening up to new developments. This means accepting and thoroughly examining what has long been declared out of their realm: the divine parts of the universe. Faith is called as such because of its complete trust in something, or someone, based on spiritual apprehension rather than logic. To say it isn’t true out of systematical methods followed is but an insult to its religion. That is not to say there are no corporeal evidence. Countless testaments from varying individuals across multiple regions is a powerhouse that indicates the existence of faith with the use of mathematical probability and statistics – the science of numbers. It cannot be denied then that spiritual truth can be proven upon scientific methods. In the end, there is a mutual necessity between Science and Faith in order to determine something as strange yet familiar as the Divine Truth. Read the full article
