Something about the way that Xander's first scene in the show is being distracted and hurting himself looking at Buffy (and later dedicates his life again and again to throwing himself headfirst into dangerous in the name of his care for her) while he's actually looking for Willow who he needs help from because of struggling in school meanwhile Buffy is actually just heading to the principal's office who's judging her transcripts already she's drowning in school. they were made me be mirrors they were made to parallel one another they were most importantly all three of the made to be friends.
