lthis town event would be a nice break from the recent stock pile of work she had. honestly, it was her own fault, she was the one that took on the case load of files and wanted them settle them early. but she welcomed the upcoming opportunities, the break, the fun. the girl beside her. it had been a while since she’d seen gemma, and inviting her to screw around at the carnival made complete sense; because what other way was cat supposed to get her outside? the chances of gemma showing up her own were slim, and cat would much rather enjoy the carnival with a friend than by herself. 

“so,” she leans to her side, knocking her shoulder against gemma’s, “do you want me to beat you in darts first, or do you want to lose the strongman game first?” she looked at her, lips curling into a challenging smirk.

Derick: Come out of town with me for a day, or so. Maybe bring a nice dress -- and pretend to be my wife. I need the happy married rich couple without a single problem in the world charade.
