gemma smirked and wrapped her arms back against her while cat shook her. “thank you for the compliment; i’m flattered- really, but i’d love for you to explain how that would be my fault.”
arm’s crossed, gemma watched as cat sent another arrow flying. this time being a practically perfect throw. oh shit. now gem was starting to feel a little nervous. she had to think fast on how she could possibly turn this thing around. if cat threw her last three like that, gem was in trouble. she took a step closer and made it seem like she was eyeing the board before sneaking an arm around her shoulder. “i’ll admit, maybe you’re better at this than i imagined.” she nodded as she pulled the angel in a bit closer. it was a cheap distraction tactic, sure, but gemma didn’t care. her pride was at stake. “you think you’ll be able to keep it up?” the familiar murmured close to cat’s ear.
“I’m not explaining anything to you; I’ve embarrassed myself enough.” Cat grins, and laughs, winding another dart back, and sticking her tongue out in concentration. She makes her third one, thrusting a fist up in victory.
gemma’s eyeing the board while cat is moving a hand, narrowing her eyes at the board. suddenly, there was a warmth along her shoulders, and cat is being pulled into the familiar’s side. she smirks, trying to keep her cool, “i bet that’s not the first time i impressed you. surprised you.” she says back, winding her hand back, she’s about to release when gemma lowers her tone. cat feels his body shiver, her gaze shifts as she tosses the dart, the distraction successful. Her dart hits the board, but doesn’t stick falling to the ground. cat flares her nostrils and scoffs, and turns to face gem, “okay. i’ll remember this.” she rolls her eyes, pushing the other girl away, and tossing the dart at the board, her frustration guiding it to success, “three is the number to beat, babe. good luck.” she offers a smirk, debating using her own tricks on gemma.
