“Box 2
Jack and Baroness told me everything, and there's no sense in denying it any longer. Soon I'll be away, possibly forever... but maybe not.
Baroness and I have come to an arrangement: one that will hopefully make this a lot easier for the both of us. Less painful at least.
This doesn't mean I'm giving up though. But this is checkmate, so I will accept whatever comes next in hope that one day I can return.
When I spoke with Knight in prison a long while ago, I told him that he was a person, just like me. Baroness is a person too. And so are the rest of the Court, including Crown.
I don't believe in "bad" people. I think that we all make good or bad choices in life, and that all of us can be redeemed. We just have to be shown the right way, and want to change and work at it.
Perhaps Crown can be redeemed, or Baroness, or even myself. Maybe I can forgive the worst parts of myself and learn to be whole, regardless of the good or bad. And I truly hope that Crown will one day be whole, and happy with himself, too.
But... before I go, I'd like to tell you about my friend, the hummingbird. I'm sure you've been very curious about her.
I first saw her many years ago, after my grandmother died. My grandmother had raised me, and was someone I really looked up to. After she died, I was... well, I was devastated.
But on the day that she died, I sat out on the front porch swing and I saw a little blue hummingbird, and I knew that despite all of the hardship and pain, everything would eventually be okay. I named the hummingbird Wind, and she's been with me ever since.
In some cultures, the hummingbird represents hope, and even a messenger spirit meant to help people. Because the hummingbird came to me, she gave me hope. And because you shared my messages and worked together to help me, you became the hummingbird as well.
My final message to you is to treat others kindly, like you would treat me. Love them for who they are, not what they are, and help them become whole again.
Thank you for being my hummingbird. I will see you again, soon.
- Syd (Whisper)”
