That meteor shower was really something. Jongdae had heard the rumors about it and was guilty of going up to the observatory tower to watch it. It was pretty, he thought, worth staying up late for. It was like thousands of shooting stars passing across the night sky. You could make a thousand wishes, and though he never really liked to think of himself as the type, he had a few whispered in his heart.
There may have been for his magic to go away. One to wish he had different abilities, ones that didn’t see into the future. One to turn back time and redo so many things. One to wish away his stupid curiosity. One to bring back his family and friends.
Oh who was he kidding? He already knew this was all bullshit. Wishes on shooting stars? Shit like that didn’t happen in real life. Funny, coming from someone who could use magic, but it was one of those things he firmly believed weren’t real.
As the last streaks of light finish passing the sky he heads down from the tower to the courtyard. He doesn’t quite feel like heading back to the carriage house just yet even though it’s late and he should be heading to bed, so he settles on an empty bench. Left with his own thoughts now he can’t help but think back on how many things have changed, or haven’t changed. Who knew that a meteor shower could make a person so sentimental? Without thinking, he lets his eyes close and before he knows it he’s drifting off.
Unaware of how much time as passed since he drifted off, he suddenly becomes acutely aware of two things. One is the unmistakable pain in his neck, probably from falling asleep sitting up, and two a voice in his head. Now, he probably wouldn’t have thought it strange if it weren’t for the fact that it clearly wasn’t his, and the words he was hearing clearly weren’t part of his usual train of thought.
His eyes opened, and he had to shield them for a moment as the morning sun greeted him. As he looked around he didn’t see anyone nearby, which meant this wasn’t just a nearby conversation he overheard in his sleepy state. It couldn’t be-
He strained to try and focus on these thoughts as he shook off the haze of sleep. Yep, there was no doubt about it. It’d only been mere minutes but he was already getting a headache from this. Just how much of his had leaked through to this other person?
But he tried to make one thought clear. Courtyard. Just come to the courtyard.
He’ll think of something later.
