Review of T'ELSE's Kombucha Hydro Glow Essence
t'else is a brand under Real Barrier, which was founded in 2015 by the Korean brand ATOPALM to treat and protect weakened skin barriers specifically. Their Kombucha Hydro Glow Essence is designed to smooth skin and add a healthy, dewy glow. Key ingredients include: green tea leaf extract (antioxidant, anti-acne, healing, anti-inflammatory, improves skin elasticity, anti-aging), saccharomyces ferment filtrate (deeply hydrating, strengthens skin barrier, soothes sensitivity, nourishing, improve skin's appearance), sodium hyaluronate (anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, hydrating, moisturizing, healing), hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid (designed to penetrate the skin easier, stimulates collagen synthesis, moisturizing), hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate (provides deep hydration, improves the skin's elasticity, enhances skin barrier function, helps retain moisture), sodium acetylated hyaluronate (provides long lasting hydration, improves skins elasticity, penetrates more deeply than hyaluronic acid, ideal for dry environments), and lactobacillus ferment (naturally decreases sebum production, promotes good bacteria on the skin, anti-acne, improves moisture retention, hydrating, anti-inflammatory). To quickly note, I received this for free from Picky and T'ELSE in exchange for my honest review.
The essence contains 150 ml (5.07 oz) and does contain fragrance.
It has a pretty viscous consistency.
It has a very refreshing, deeply hydrating feel.
It absorbs easily and leaves skin hydrated and more plump.
Recommended use is to take an adequate amount after washing the face, gently apply it across the face along the skin texture, and lightly pat it for better absorption. After using this essence is very nourishing and adds a natural glow to the skin, and does an amazing job of hydrating and soothing the skin. It also helps to tone and brighten dull skin. There is a natural fragrance in this product, mainly from essential oils, so it could be an issue. But apart from that, the ingredients are very good and really help to improve the skin overall. This is an ideal product for dull and dry/dehydrated skin, so I'd definitely recommend it. I'd potentially avoid this if you're sensitive to fragrance or to fragrance ingredients.
What I like: this really does help your skin glow and helps with dullness and hydration, and moisturization. It's nourishing, and I like the texture, as I prefer viscous textures for toners and essences. It does have some lovely ingredients, and even though I have sensitive skin, I didn't have any irritation from it. What I don't like: there is a fair amount of irritants and fragrance.
Pros:
Hydrating
Adds a glow to the skin
Soothing
Nourishing
Comes in a large size
Brightening
Cons:
Fragrance
Irritants
