So... This is a longshot, but what if Sarek and Lwaxana hook up or whatever (before Perrin and Ian, I guess?) and Lwaxana has Sybok. Somehow (details TBD, probably involves Q because I can be a lazy writer like that) Sybok is sent back in time where he's found and adopted by Sarek and T'Rea. No one knows what to make of Sybok because he's a force of nature like his mom, but no one knows he's half Betazoid because they hadn't even discovered Betazoids back then.

T'Rea decides to pursue the kolinahr after several years of Sybok's eccentricities for some peace and quiet.

Sarek, single again, decides to pursue human women for reasons even he doesn't understand.

The moment when a Vulcan is being very nasty to Amanda, not giving her a chance to defend herself. A female Kohlinaru steps between them and proceeds to give a coldly logical analysis of just why Sarek and Amanda are so well suited. Her name, T'Rea.

What is up with the relationship between Sarek and the Vulcan princess that resulted in Sybock? I don't know if they were ever married??

As far as I know she married Sarek and years later they get divorced and she became the High Master of Gol. But I also know that she never told Sarek that they had a son. He finally knew it when she died and Sybok was 3 yo. It was T'Rea who introduced Sybok the concept of Sha Ka Ree.
