Being so settled in your relationship, mystery girl!au reader and spencer are always down to loosen up and spend a night out. However, an FBI event is a bit of a different story. He's a bit nervous to be letting loose at his place of work, and you're a bit nervous meeting the higher-ups at his office that you haven't met.
Anyway, you have to attend, if only to make sure Penelope stops nagging, so you get all dressed up and go. Spencer definitely matches his tie to your dress, the sap. At the event, the two of you are stuck together like glue, always touching in some way, even if its just your pinkies linked together as you talk to different people.
The rest of the BAU is always protective and teasing of the two of you, but it seems to increase tenfold on a night like this. Hotch is ferrying the two of you around to meet all sorts of different FBI officials, introducing you to everyone. Rossi regales you with gossip about every person you see, Penelope chiming in with her own anecdotes as he does so. JJ and Derek are snapping pictures of the two of you when you're caught hiding away in an alcove for a breather, cackling so hard you worry they'll topple over. Emily can't help but poke fun at Spencer when she sees him holding your purse, but everyone can see how much she cares.
The nerves are dismissed a few hours in, when the circle of the BAU sticks together in the middle of the lobby. Spencer's getting kind of overstimulated, so he stands a little behind you, long arm wrapped around your waist as he listens to you chat with the team. He nods along absentmindedly, but he's more preoccupied with fiddling with the silky fabric of your dress than anything.
The night ends with the two of you stumbling out of the metro at 02:00, you wearing Spencer's loafers and him donning some ratty old shoes that he had at his desk while he holds your heels for you <3
Had this man-sized meal of medium done T-Bone Steak (S$23.90++) at Hot Tomato in Causeway Point for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the hearty 430g of tender and well-seasoned Australian grass fed beef. Added S$2.50++ for a soup and drink to complete the meal.
