“That’s the least romantic thing anyone has ever said to me…” Mahealahey, please? :*
Danny looked down at the cherry on their valentine’s day sundae. They had been together about 6 months, and this was the first time Isaac had ever had a valentine.
Danny had gone above and beyond to make it special, taking him out for a nice dinner, in a limo, with roses and everything - right down to a very romantic ice cream sundae at the end.
“You know, Maraschino cherries are like basterdized, vampire attacked cherries,” Isaac said. “They’ve been bled dry of ANY natural flavor, and filled to the brim with red dye and pure sugar.”
“Wow,” Danny laughed, reaching across the table, taking Isaac’s hand. “That might be the least romantic thing anyone has ever said to me.”
“Oh.” Isaac looked at him with a smirk. “Well, I can tie the stem into a knot with my tongue,” he said.
“Now that’s better.” Danny leaned forwards, kissing Isaac on the cheek.
“I can do a lot more with my tongue, too,” Isaac grinned.
“Oh,” Danny smiled. “I know, but tonight’s not about what you can do for me, okay? It’s about us, being together.”
“Yeah?” Isaac bit his lip, nervous about what he was going to say next. “That’s good, because I’m definitely sure I love you.”
“Good.” Danny smiled brightly.
“Yeah?” Isaac joined his smile.
“Yeah, and guess what?” Danny tipped his head to the side. “I love you too.”
“I…actually believe that,” Isaac muttered.
“Now THAT is the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard.” Danny looked at Isaac, and maybe to anyone else, that wouldn’t seem romantic, but with everything that Isaac had been through, with everyone who was supposed to love him and hadn’t, believing that he was loved was hard, and he believed Danny. To Danny, that was the best gift Isaac could ever give him.
