blurs of white with black boots breezed around the kitchen throughout hwan’s shift. despite it being a week day, C&C experienced a steady line of customers nonetheless; which certainly kept hwan on his toes. however, time seemed to drag. maybe that was because he had spent the past few nights working on something and he couldn’t wait to have subin’s opinion? during his lunch break, he sent a quick text, confirming their late night.
[subin-noona]: noona, you work this evening, right? i think i saw your name as one of the waitresses on shift. would you mind staying behind with me to help lock up shop? i’m counting on you!
now, there were only a few minutes left before they shut the doors for the evening and hwan is finally saying his goodbyes. he bows respectfully, “you’ve worked hard, thank you,” “see you tomorrow, please get home safe,” “rest well,” and when the shop is empty, his lips twist into a soft smile. “noona,” he calls out, “i’m excited for this one.” of course, that’s usually the case for every new recipe he wants subin to try, but that’s beside the point. he turns to face her, then allows his eyes to look around the shop. it’s messy, but with the two of them together, it shouldn’t take too long to fix up. “ah,” his head tilts, “would you mind if i got everything in the oven first before we take care of the cleaning? it’s already pretty late and i know your students wouldn’t like it if i kept you too long.”
