In Heaven, Dean's charismatic and charming, though a lot of the archangels think he's disloyal and rude and should be 'taken care of', but they don't see Dean on Earth, fighting for people, like the angels are meant to do, obedient and quick and seldom questioning his orders.

They don't see Dean in his vessel, comfortable and like he belongs there, doing God's work with precision, understanding, empathy. They don't see the softness, the honesty, that pours out of him when Dean wraps his wings around Cas and whispers, "I have doubts," like he's reading Castiel's thoughts.

They find time in between back to back classes and work to sneak off. Sometimes Dean presses Cas against the back corner shelves of the library and spends fifteen minutes trying to be quiet; sometimes they sneak off to an empty lecture hall and Dean bites his knuckles to keep from crying out. But for all the excitement, the urgency being in public brings, Dean's pretty fond of getting to take Cas back to his dorm and make the most of the time they get.
