Happy Valentine’s.
Continued from here
Robbie was rushing around the bedroom, making sure everything was perfect. A large, heart-shaped box of chocolates for them to share after sex, their heated blanket freshly unplugged, the ring in its box securely in the pocket of his dress pants, and the low lighting that Billy loved so much. God, was he really about to do this? Billy has pretty much already said yes, but he wanted to make the proposal itself as special as it could be.
“Uh, yeah.” He took the lube and strawberries and put them on the nightstand with the box of chocolates and came back to him before going to one knee, carefully gauging his boyfriend’s reaction, memorizing the details of his face. He wanted to remember every second of this for the rest of his life.
He wasn’t sure what to expect from that day.
It was Valentines day and there was going to be a surprise Robbie would have ready for him, that much he knew and understood. He realized that their confessions from the month ago were still fueling them both onwards, having them kiss more often, smile more honest, let their lives come to a calm pace of care. And Billy never, ever wanted to lose this, not even a fragment.
So, when he walked onto that, his heart almost stopped.
The chocolates and the heated blanket, the lube and strawberries, those were just things, enhancements of their devotion on that day. But what he saw when he he turned back to Robbie from dimming the lights to a soft hue, what he saw when Robbie slowly knelt down in front of him and looked at him with that gaze, lingering on Billy’s in a tell-tale sign.
Breath was cut short, and he stared, lips parted in awe. The scent of candles and strawberries and chocolate was lingering in the air.
“... W-what are you doing?” he made out, whispered almost, before he saw Robbie’s smile tug on his lips. “... Oh god... It’s really happening, isn’t it...?”
He was getting proposed to. By the love of his life.
Proposal
@theboyinthehoodie liked for a Valentine’s Day Starter
It had been on the difficult side to find a babysitter on Valentine’s Day, but luckily Cora had agreed to watch the boys, and both liked her well enough that neither had a problem with it. So he was making them dinner at his place, complete with candles and music. And he was planning on proposing after dinner.
They’d talked about forever, talked about expanding their little family. Stiles was pretty much already pack. Derek just wanted to make them officially official. The ring he had was a simple silver band with a triskele engraved on the inside.
When Stiles arrived, he greeted him with a warm smile and a soft kiss.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” he murmured, bringing a hand up to stroke his cheek. “Dinner will be ready soon.”
Oz had been searching for the perfect thing to surprise Cris with, it had taken him forever. He couldn’t exactly ask the other for help on the computer and he knew what he wanted was not something he could get around his shop. It has been a good couple months since the night of their talk, a month since Sherlock and Bond had joined their little family.
His original idea had been to have Bond help him out, but the elderly cat had other ideas and Oz had earned himself a few scratches for his effort. The cat now hiding under the bed and growling loudly whenever he stepped to close to it. Sherlock was much more willing to be of assistance, well.. he was asleep so he didn’t really care. Carefully tying the red ribbon around the pups neck he made his way to the living room.
He was nervous, though he didn’t know why, this was a big step, one they had discussed, but he still worried. A hand swiped over his mouth as he grabbed the food container for Sherlock from the kitchen. Shaking it a few time he went back to the living room to sit down beside Cris. This was not unusual, the spoiled puppy often ate out there with them.
There was a loud snort, and shuffling from the other room before the growing pu came storming out of the bedroom. His overlarge paws sliding the wooden floor as he crashed into the side of the sofa. Snorting loudly he jumped up on the couch between the pair, a laugh falling from Oz’s lips before looking at Cris. “Can you hold him, he is going to try to eat me alive if I try to open the food with him on my lap.“
Lifting the small dog he set him in his lovers lap, the bow of the red ribbon drawing his attention for a moment. A simple silver ring nestled into the knot, multiple small dashes circled the ring, but there was no other marks. Clearing his throat he swiped his hand over his mouth, trying to stop his fingrs from shaking as he opened the dog food, waiting for the other to notice the ring.
They had talked about it before, but Cris didn’t think much about it. It seemed less likely to cause him stress if he didn’t think about it and even if it never happened, as long as he had Oz by his side. So when Oz came and sat next to him on the couch, Cris thought of nothing out of the ordinary.
Sherlock came bounding and Cris chuckled at the pup’s exuberance. He did like his food, that was for sure. But when he noticed the ribbon on his collar, his amusement turned to confusion and then shock. With trembling fingers, Cris pulled the silver ring from the ribbon, turning to stare at Oz with wide, teary eyes. His body was trembling, realizing his life was about to change. “Oz?” he asked, softly.
"Will you marry me?"
12. "Yes! Yes yes yes! God yes!"
"Oh my god," Quentin breathed. "Yes, yes, God yes."
