Kamala [text]: Hey, that drink still up for grabs? [text]: This is Kamala. Plays piano at that stupidly expensive restaurant on Bourbon street.
[TXT MSG]: absolutely! I would love to take your out for that drink. [TXT MSG]: I can pick you up, where are you?

Lies Between Friends | Kamala & Miles
The smell of fresh grinds carried Miles into the Starbucks not far from Fifth Avenue. Miles was glad Kamala had agreed to meet for coffee of all things. The caffeine wasn't going remove the bags from under his eyes, but he needed something if he was going to power through the rest of the day. Parker liked to say that with ‘great power comes great responsibility,’ but what he neglected to add was that with great responsibility came great amounts of late night cramming. Between part-time work and full-time costumed heroics, there hadn’t been much time for sleep. School wasn’t showing him any mercy either. This was supposed to be an easy semester, full of electives and easy A’s to make his internship manageable. How was he supposed to know that a course called ‘Examining Disney’ would involve so much in-depth Freudian analysis?
The cafe was less crowded than normal. Miles figured that they must have beat the morning rush hour. It was a good thing, too. The lingering smells were maddening without a cup of joe in hand. As he stepped into line, Miles heard the door open behind him. He smiled a shy, toothless smirk, waving a peace sign and saying, "Sup, Kamala?"
