Its snowing on the Continental Divide as a Burlington Northern Santa Fe manifest freight heads west through the siding at Tabernash, Colorado, while the Ansco Ski Train waits on the wye track on the background on January 23, 1999. For several years, the Ski Train leased Amtrak EMD F40PH locomotives, before they finally decided on purchasing a trio in 2000.
Always grateful for @michaellichterphotography and his ability to capture my work and make it look so good! Here’s your chance to own a print and support a great cause! Link in bio ————————— Buy a print/Support a Vet with this beauty shot of Taber Nash's 1976 split rocker Ironhead Sportster, aka "Trucky". Like many of Taber's customs, this is a throwback chopper, and so, in an even more distilled way, the lines of this detail say, "Chopper". What do you think? 100% of the proceeds from this print offering go to the non-profit Veterans Support Fund so please consider ordering a 10”x15” of this or any of the 13 other images I’ve made available at the special price of $39.95 through March 31. Just go to oldbikebarn.com and click on “Willie’s Vets” where you can see the offerings and buy them right there. Thank you Bear Haughton at @oldbikebarn for putting this together with #TropicalTattoo and Willie Jones. Note the big watermark at the bottom of the image will not be on the print, but rather, just the teeny script at lower right. This is image #12/14. #veteranssupportfund, #choppertime, #tropicaltattoo, #oldbikebarn, #Harley-Davidson, @harleydavidson , #choppers, #panhead, #tabernash, @nashmotorcycleco, #nikonlove, #nikonlife, @nikonusa https://www.instagram.com/p/CM3dlEKh_PO/?igshid=1xws2wvu47g0c

The turning point for the Rio Grande Ski Train operating from Denver to Winter Park is the wye at Tabernash, Colorado. After unloading passengers just outside the west end of the Moffat Tunnel at Winter Park, the train proceeds west to Tabernash. On January 15, 2005, the Ski Train is being wyed and slowly rolls through the small mountain town. Once wyeing is complete, the train will proceed east to the next siding at Fraser for the day, before departing late in the afternoon, giving skiers a ride back to Denver.
