Table Table at The Oakwood Gloucester - Breakfast where Kids eat Free!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We made a decision that on Saturdays we would make it the time for a really special family breakfast – ensuring a good start to the day both in terms of being well fed and for time together. We often find things can be busy, rushing around with days out, places to review, parties, trips with out-of-school-clubs, tidying, fixing the car – and so on…

Table Table
I went to Portalli’s for dinner to break away from routinely staying inside like a sheltered child. After a few seconds, the hostess greeted me with a vibrant smile. She’s pretty and seemed friendly. She wore a colorful, turquoise, mid-thigh length dress with grayish flat dress shoes and a red rectangle framed glasses.
“Table for one, please.” “Table for one… Did you want a table at the bar or a table table?” *Pauses to think for a moment* “Which would be more convenient for the restaurant?” “It doesn’t matter.” *Pauses to think again* “I’ll take a table table.”
The hostess nearly head-desked the stand, but was also smiling as she blushed from feeling embarrassed.
*Looking down at the menus on the stand* “I’m sorry. Sometimes, I don’t realize what I’ve said until someone repeats it back to me.”
“It’s okay.” *I smile*
She grabbed a menu for me and I followed her up the stairs while listening to her speak. When we arrived at the table, I thanked her and smiled as she returned the facial expression and returned back downstairs.
I was seated at a table between two middle-aged couples enjoying their meal. Looking around the restaurant, I thought back to when Portalli’s had used to be a friend’s parent’s restaurant and how we had celebrated his birthday there. I had a gnocchi for my main dish and for dessert, a pumpkin moose.
When the first bite of the pumpkin moose entered my mouth, holy shit, I was in paradise. It was delicious. Amazingly delicious. I wanted to cry because of how good it tasted.
As I was eating my meal, I saw the hostess come up a few times, counting the tables that were available and occasionally seating guests to them. She seems detail oriented and focused with her responsibilities.
After finishing dinner, I nearly collided with a waitress carrying a dish for her guest and I apologized and sped walked down the stairs. Before leaving the restaurant, the hostess poked her head out at me with a smile and asked if I enjoyed my table table. I laughed with a smile and told her I did enjoy my table table. She went back to what she was doing, but before she could be out of hearing range, I wished her a great evening and she wished the same for me.
On a side note, cat sitting is fun. :D

#Review: Table Table’s Spring Menu
Last weekend we were invited down to Treacle Mine just outside Eastbourne, a Table Table restaurant, to review their new spring menu. Never one to turn down a free meal, we were happy to oblige and drove over for a family lunch. The restaurant itself is in a great location on the A27 near Polegate. Its at a services with a Premier Inn next door along with a petrol station and a McDonalds. There’s…
