Table for 2
When will the Sydcarmy table be set?
I´m pretty sure it´s gonna be in S5 and that´s why I don´t want there to be a S6 or 7, etc. BC I have the feeling that when it´s set and everyone seats at it, it´s over and that´s OK. Sydcarmy will be the focal point of that table, but everyone else will be at it too. System baby!
Let me explain:
This post below by someone who now changed her username, opened my eyes to the symbology of a set table, which perfectly aligns with my previous observations on the potential series finale.
For those who have no idea what I´m talking about, I recommend to check out these 3 previous posts for context:
Timing
Legacy
Napkis
So, I wholeheartedly agree with what that post pointed out because there is a correlation Storer is tracing between characters and crokery items that are required to set a table and have a meal to feed the body and the soul, where the family shares the nourishment, celebrates, makes decisions, and basically CONNECTS (if done right).
And here´s how IK these items such as fork, spoon and knife, primarely, but also plates, napkins, glasses, and the one that holds it all together: THE TABLE hold a symbology we should be mindful of and that affects not just Sydcarmy, primarily, but the whole arc of the show.
And thus, have a crucial correlation with its 2 main characters.
And I could easily take it even further and say: with the big 3.
What I´m saying is that Mikey is symbologically represented by the Fork in Storer´s universe, as we all know by now bc of 2x6
Which he passed along to Richie when he died. That is a symbolic legacy, but Michael had also left Carmy a tangible legacy, the restaurant, so Carmy was the one in charge to make sure Richie recieved his part, and he did in 2x7.

And Carmy, on his part, is the spoon, which Terry passed along to him, when she sent him to Copenhagen and in turn he eventually passed it along to Syd when he proposed started to entertain the idea that she was ready to be fully in charge of their HOME restaurant.
Then that means that Syd is the knife which she got before meeting Carmy (fate/meant to be/red string) bc SHE´S THE PATTERN BREAKER!
She CUTS out with the BERZATTO family curse of dysfunction and trauma, hence the bloody cut in S1 when Carmy made her his Mother of Victory Sous Chef (1x3).
And the most important item in setting up a table, is THE TABLE itself.
That´s why SYDCARMY (not Syd and Carmy separatedly, but as an item) is represented by the table, which is a token of their relationship, as much as the menu they put on it. They are setting tables to come together. That is why they came together over a restaurant, because it´s the scenario that combines table + menu + silverware + crokery, all these items that in the Storer universe are a culinary representation of a System and therefore of Family, bc they go together and are functional to one another, like a well adjusted system, which is the dynamic Storer is pursuing throughout the whole show and will achieve by the end of it.
Back to Sydcarmy as a table: That´s why all their pseudo-romantic-loving-sexy-where they get closer scenes are table-themed:
Up until now I had only picked up on the fact that Syd´s tattoo had a chef´s knife and I took it as an endgame sign, I assumed it was Carmy´s knife, and while I don´t think I was wrong, I do see now that there´s yet another deeper layer I had overseen, it´s also Syd´s nature. She symbolizes the knife on the table, the one that cuts the MEAT, and she´s at the same time the sacrificial lamb for Carmy. So I´m assuming she will cut the meat of her own sacrifice, meaning she will cut the curse that dangles over Carmen Berzatto´s head, that dictates that love hurts and that he´s not cut out for or deserving of it, that he can´t handle amusement and enjoyment, that he´s better off without all those things. After Syd, because of Syd and her sharp nature that cuts all of that BS out with her own hands, he won´t have to make any more sacrifices, he will be ready to contain, to stir things up and change their course, to turn around what has been holding him back all this time, which is his purpose as a spoon. Maybe they even actually spoon.
Table Etiquette
The Napkins’ silent code
And it´s important that Syd is a knife and he is represented by a spoon bc both table utensils have something in common (along with the fork that also plays a part in Sydcarmy), none of them can be used until the napkin placement indicates so, as a matter of fact the waiter/ess can´t even begin serving until the napkin is OFF the plate. Meaning, the napkin is the one that breaks the pattern. Same when the service is over and the table should be freed, the napkin should be loosely folded and placed to the left of the plate, covering the fork/s to signal the waiter/ess they can pick up the place setting.
Summing up, who controls the napkins controls the timing, that´s Syd who decided on the napkins to be used at the restaurant in the first place, bc Carmy was spooning around instead of being there with her, in S2, but also the fork Richie sets the Sydcarmy timer, bc he´s in charge of the FOH and sets the tables before every service and makes sure they are freed up for rotation, from one turn to the next. Plus he´s also the Sandman, and sand means TIME ⏳ + Master of the dreamweavers that help Sydcarmy reach for the stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️. So the timing for Sydcarmy O´clock 🍒 will be determined by Syd who will break the pattern/curse, Carmy who will step into his role as a Spooner and turn things around (meaning he will take the first step to conquer Syd, unlike what he has always done so far) and Richie who will make space for them to happen, probably at a table he sets himself in the FOH, or helping them win the star with his fake snow, something like that.
THE DREAM LOOKS MORE REAL NOW (table 31)
Bonus track: we can assign a table utensil to each member of the family, ofc. IMO for instance, Donna is the glasses (2x6). Emmanuel is the ice bucket (bc he´s the Iceman and bc of the pop cart especially set up for him in 2x10 that had plenty of those), Tina (4x6) shares the Napkins correlation with Syd, that’s why she’s also Sous Chef, like Syd was, etc. Which proves this table theory has legs. Let’s not forget that we’re still missing the KASAMA TABLE SCENE 🫂(S5).
