It would be great if you could post this to help me find people who can solve this: I'm a happy owner of a 10X6.25 Monoprice tablet. It works perfectly on my MacBook, but I have troubles with it on my new Win7 desktop computer. Pressure sensitivity doesn't work, no matter which drivers I installed. Maybe I'm overlooking something. I am more than happy to draw a free picture for whoever can help me out, since I'm out of ideas how to get my tablet to work :/

Can anyone help out sarlyneart ????? :( 

My personal opinion on this issue would be to just contact monoprice support, since it seems our userbase is kinda mixed on how good / bad monoprice is :/

I really want to start doing digital art but I have no idea on which drawing tablet I should get. What drawing tablet do you think is better for a beginner?

Really depends on your price range but I feel like Bamboo’s are very solid tablets and you can get good usage out of it for the price. Then again it also depends on how far along you are ‘art’ wise. If you’re a fairly experienced artist (many years of practicing traditional under your belt, you know how to render and draw fairly well) and think you’re going to pick up digital art fairly quickly, you might want to just start with an intuos. But if you’re a beginner in both aspects, a bamboo would probably be better. 

It also depends if you’re going to pour a lot of hours into learning digital art. My mom is fairly well practiced with traditional medium, but I gave her a hand-me-down intuos and she’s hardly touched it since she not only has to learn how to use a tablet, but also learn how to use photoshop efficiently etc, and just doesn’t have the time to put towards learning it right now. :o But over all I feel like you can’t go wrong with a bamboo. 

These are also obviously just wacom tablets, since those are the only ones I know. :/ if anyone else has suggestions, please share them by reblogging this post, replying to it, or sending us an ask! :)

if it has the name pro in it then it's definitely an upgrade from the old bamboo. :) just a bit of info, bamboo pen actually isn't sold with that name anymore, now it's called 'intuos pen' but it's the same thing I think (same price and functions)

I’m not sure what you mean, you mean the pen thats sold with the bamboo is the same as the intuos pen? :o

Right now I have the Wacom Bamboo and I've been thinking about upgrading. I've heard good things about the Intuos Pro and it's in my price range. Is it an upgrade or does it have the same capabilities as my Bamboo?

From my understanding  bamboo is even marketed as more of a beginner tablet where intuos is marketed for more serious use. So yes, I believe it’s an upgrade.

From what I can find online, the intuos has better pen sensitivity, pen tilt, hot keys, etc.

I'm a Digital Art student that splurged on a Cintiq 22HD. Admittedly, I went hungry for a while but I didn't mind since it was an investment in my future. Keyword being investment. If you're new, stick to a cheaper model - in the beginning it's about honing your skills and figuring out how you work. A display tablet will increase your work flow/speed, but it's not about that in the beginning. Go at your own pace. Don't worry about that sort of thing when it's not issue. Just my opinion though c:

I definitely agree a cintiq should be an investment in your future.  :) The cintiq is good but as I mentioned in another ask, it isnt going to improve your art 100 fold just because you have it.

I saw a video of someone replacing the surface on Intuos 4, and I had no idea it was replaceable. Has anyone here done it?

I’ve never heard of anyone doing that either! :/ I imagine it’s not easy by any means but I’ll publish this and see if our followers have any info.

Does anyone else have any input?

ive been using a wacom bamboo create for 4ish years now and it still works good!! sometimes it glitches out though like, wherever i set the pen it clicks regardless if i actually pressed, and sometimes it does that and ends up selecting everything, but thats mostly likely attributed to the fact that my pen lost its button and its innards are exposed and are probably all messed up from like, sweat, dirt, etc. the pen only lost its button when i threw it! sooo its really all my fault :'3c

Hahaha oh no!! One of my old pens button came off but I was able to very easily re-attach it, can you cover it up with something? 

I know sometimes when my hand is off my tablet and I click the button, the pen will react as if it’s drawing on the tablet and start making lines, so perhaps thats why the glitch is happening, the button thinks its being pressed even though its not really there! spooooky..

I had a monoprice for 2 years and honestly, it felt like it had more pressure sensitivity than my wacom did. Installing it was very difficult but once it was installed it was amazing.
