galagraphia hat auf deinen Eintrag geantwortet “Scheißa”??? guys, “Scheiße” has an E at the end…use it!”
Do you also use it like they use "shit" in English? I noticed a lot of English-speaking writers just google translate shit and put it everywhere, but it's not used like that in all languages. For example, in Russian we say "whore" (insert an image of Durance here). And I'm curious if it works for German?
I will speak for myself here because different people, different uses of swearing words. I mostly use “Scheiße” if something just happened and I want to release my anger. It’s short so it works well.
But if I want to comment on something really stupid or bad I also like to say “So ein Scheiß!” which is just “Oh crap!” I guess.
This probably explains your example why sometimes using just a translated swear word doesn’t work from situation to situation. I noticed that they did the same thing in Shadowrun Dragenfall (which is a great game and I love it so much because it still get so much right) where they just used “Scheiße” in the weirdest places but you can always excuse this stuff because of the setting how language evolved and stuff.
I personally would’ve used some other words in the game but again, setting and maybe they lost stuff of the languages idk. Should probably read more about SR.
