The Siege Begins The time finally has arrived for the Bull of the North to enter the stage. The circle at Maidenstar watched as hordes approached in the distance. The Bull of the North first stepped forward, offering peace instead. Northern Light lowers down from her flight in the air to exchange words. While the Bull’s demands to bend the knee were quickly declined. She countered offered alliances instead, though in the end the Bull also declined the counter offer. The two Solar returned to their armies and the battle began. Northern Light flew into the air, starting to cast the spell Cantata of Empty Voices from the safety of a withdrawn space. The spell would take a great deal of time to draw to full power, but in the end would release a powerful song, inciting utter agony upon anyone who would hear it. The Bull’s armies approached the walls, two mortal commanders rushing forth with incredible ferocity. While they successfully shattered the door, the first wave of forces were successfully destroyed shortly afterwards. In wave two, a new commander with eyes of flame approached, resuming the assault. Before they could approach, Bright Shadow set to action, managing to repair the gate with Solar magic during the battle. However, the army crashed against the gate and walls once more with just as much motivation. Darneth of the Way, the man with eyes of fire, cut his hand upon a dagger and unleashed a torrent of fire at the gate. Of course, then the hero of the hour leaped forth. Beztup abandoned his precious booze cart to ascend the wall and leap from it, crashing down into the earth beside the commander. Intent to protect the city gates and preserve Bright Shadow’s work, he engaged the man. Beztup unleashed a powerful howl, knocking him off his feet before he thrashed the man again and again, use him as a weapon against his own men in the process. With such ferocity aimed at Darneth quickly overwhelming him, the blood ape ended the fight by grasping the man’s head between his jaws and splitting the two apart. To everyone’s surprise however, the man’s body rose again, a wolf head craft of fire replacing the missing mortal one. Darneth’s body hurled itself over the wall with surprising heights, where it clawed at Bright Shadow. It inflicted some harm upon her, though was quickly cut down by a horde of Syn’s tiger warriors and Bright Shadows returned arrow fire. The forces were quickly broken after that.
