Hey y’all :) 

I’m Melissa & this is Sora. She’s a 25y/o waterbender from a super small Island tribe of benders. The tribe is matriarchal, and her mum is the chief leaving Sora next in line. But she’s not super excited about that, because it’s a really small place without a lot of outside contact and she’s too much of a wild spirit to be kept locked in. Right now she’s traveling the world for a year as part of her ~training~ to take on her mum’s role one day, but now that she’s left she doesn’t know if she wants to go back. Yikes. 

I, on the other hand, am a slave to retail. I love my cat and my plants, and am around on mobile a lot but my replies do tend to come slowly as I juggle a fulltime job/traveling etc. I’m also super musically inclined and inspired, so don’t be surprised if I drop songs in your inboxes that remind me of your bbs. Eeeek, excite!

hey guys, it’s me again (alyssa)

ru is a 26 years old earth bender who grew up in the shadow of the eastern air temple. his earth nation family followed air nomad traditions for much of their lives, trying to live as simply as possible, and respecting the world around them. they were farmers, and his parents had ru later in their lives, so they died a year ago. once they died, ru sold the farm, moved to republic city, and he has been working as a laborer building buildings and infrastructure. he is a formidable looking force, and while he is an expert earth bender (and slowly learning to bend metal), he’s the kindest person you’ll meet. he doesn’t talk much, but he has the biggest heart imaginable. every morning is started with an hour of meditation, and then he’s ready for the day.

I’m a little late to the intro party, but this is Jean and she’s your new awkward, gawky earthbending nerd friend. I’m still trying to figure her out, but some things about Jean:

Jean has always lived in the United Republic of Nations, it just wasn’t the United Republic at the time but rather a Fire Nation colony in the Earth Kingdom

Her family are farmers (idk what they farm yet, but not cabbages lmfao), but throughout the war were forced to give most profit and goods to the Fire Nation authorities that governed them, making them more or less destitute 

Many of Jean’s friends growing up were Fire Benders, so she holds no grudge against them as a people but is very distrustful of them as political figures

She’s not sure how to feel about Republic City?! It’s a lot of growth and hubbub and change to a place that was her quiet rural home growing up. She’s excited about the war ending and people coming together, but a city girl she is not and Republic City was built a little too close to home for her tastes

She’d prefer to stay away from the city and sell her family’s goods elsewhere in less bustling areas like the mountain villages around the area, but now that they have a chance to get some business for themselves without a lot of travel, they’ve been sending her there a lot

hello!! I’m liza, a 23 year old idiot and slave to hospitality which means i work weird, irregular and often long hours. I tend to be around on mobile more often than my laptop, so replies may be slow. You can add me on discord or message me here if u want to plot :~)

Kida is also a 23 year old idiot, from a small earth kingdom village somewhere in the north of the kingdom. in her teens, around 16 or so, her village was decimated by a fire nation attack and her parents were killed. unwilling to stick around and watch everyone else rebuild and move on with their lives, Kida clung to her resentment of the fire nation, who she perceives took everything from her. She wanted to join the Earth Kingdom army and help destroy the Fire Nation, but her anger and impulsiveness made her too much of a liability. Since then, Kida has wandered from place to place, never staying more than a few weeks, stealing food water, clothes and whatever else she needs with little regret -- in her mind, the fire nation forced her down this path, so however immoral her actions may be, they aren’t her fault. It’s a lonely life, and it doesn’t help that anyone who supports the fire nation and the harmony of all four nations living together is seen as a traitor by Kida - the Fire Nation ruined her life, and millions of lives, don’t you want revenge? Anyway her wanderings have taken her towards Republic City, where she plans to find evidence that living in harmony with the fire nation is #fakenews and use it to justify her resentment. Maybe it would be easier if she just accepted the peace, it would be easier if she allowed others to help her, if she could accept friendship, but it’s too bitter a pill to swallow for Kida. 

Fun fact, she has a pet iguana parrot because these birds are also salty lil shits who only ever like one (1) person ( and that’s kida ) and its like her kindred spirit.

i’m 24, i go by she/her pronouns, and i’m a slave to capitalism with a full time job. i make graphics on the side sometimes, so expect me positing shit for your characters.

as for lei, she’s a nonbender from the fire nation. she joined the fire nation army as a sell sword, and while she never participated in murdering someone, she was pathetic towards helping others. this hasn’t created any real moral dilemma, as she’ll hold to the fact that she did it out of necessity.

in many ways, lei isn’t a big fan of bending in general. she saw first hand what benders can do, and while she isn’t outright prejudice against them, she feels a burning discontentment that others in her nation can breathe fire while she can just slice with a sword.

she’s traveling to republic city in hopes of finding a new way to utilize her sword skills. she’s ambitious, and cunning, however her mind can be greatly overpower by her temper and recklessness. in many ways she’s her own opposite, cold yet burning. friendship has never been an easy thing for her to hold onto, but family is an idea that she understands well.
