okay this is more of a bittersweet(ish) thought i had,

but what if tachihara's mafia persona was based on how he thought his family saw him? like i imagine he picked fights when he was younger, in an effort to separate himself from Shunzen, and his family called him violent and rash. like maybe the decision wasn't exactly conscious, but he was able to adopt he persona easily because of that. it was someone his family, and extension him, viewed as unlovable. but the mafia, who were able to see beyond his violence and impulsiveness, love him. in a sort of twisted way perhaps, but it's more love than his parents had for him.

so a pretty accpeted hc is that tachihara has a hard time sleeping, and i raise you,

hds, because of the enchanment sugeries do not require as much sleep as we do and can stay awake longer than we can before things start getting messed up.

tachihara getting some sleep that night the agency is framed, and then never getting any sleep until he gets turned into a vampire because stress. mostly because i think it would be funny for him to just faint in front of someone when they find him post vampirism.

you know what's kind of funny? pm!tachi is kind of arrogant and impulsive and rash and stuff, but under that is his feelings of incompetency and inferiority. he's like the stereotypical white man(minus the hatred for minorities and the harassing women)- 😭 except that the arrogance and impulsiveness is a cover and not actually what he's like.(he is kind of rash sometimes tho) also...he's japanese. it's just funny to me.

also another thing, he was projecting his self hatred onto Yosano. Which actually he does recognize and it seems like he's let go because he's taking charge of his emotions now.

I'm feeling hatred towards Bones again... specifically about their transgressions against Tachihara. Some of these may be a little stupid, but I'm mad. Especially about the first two I'm fine.

We do have to start with their worse offence, taking out these panels AND THEN MOVING A PART OF THE PANELS TO A DIFFERENT PART???? UGH

what was the point? Do they just hate Tachihara??? These are so important to his character, not only does it confirm he was verbally abused and that he believes himself lesser than his brother(very important things to his character) it shows his guilt about hurting Gin and Hirotsu and it shows how far he fell into the mafia. ALSO! It shows his struggle with picking a side we can see that he sees his HD family in his PM family. It's just...so horrible to take out.

That scene in the anime where he's talking to Gin and Hirotsu in the hospital, in the manga it's very much more apparent that he feels like shit and he's itching towards self hatred and immense guilt. The pained look when Hirotsu tells him he's glad he's not injured? Not there. The depressed look when he asks Hirotsu if he thinks he's cut out for the mafia? Not there. Bones sucks at fucking doing the basics apparently! I know it's a little pretentious, but come on, it's important to his character.

look at that. expressive depressed baby. im pissed off you can't really see that in the anime.

Also a minor nickpick because I'm in the mood, WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CHANGE THE DOOR????????????? Like in the scene mentioned above, in the manga, it has one door handle:

↑ LOOK THAT'S DIFFERENT FROM THE ANIME. I DON'T HAVE A PICTURE OF IT IN THE ANIME RN BUT IT'S DOUBLE DOORS! IDK WHY WHAT WAS THE POINT???????????? IT'S SUCH A STUPID THING TO CHANGE???

another nickpick that's minor...

also the jacket is bugging me. They changed it. They changed the character design. Also he has a necklace. And the hair is different(although anime looks like early Tachihara a bit w/hair) His hair is shorter. Also his jacket has little strings on the end there. Ofc ik things have to be removed for easier animation but...why did they change the shape of the jacket sleeves? What...was it that hard to animate?

Ofc there are a lot of other nick picks, they cut out Tecchou & his ants, they again didn't do well with Tachihara's expressions, they changed how the set up was while Tachihara was explaining what happened with the BL, etc etc.

tachihara suffering from semi-frequent panic(or anxiety) attacks but outwardly he just kinda looks annoyed and impatient. like his leg is aggressively tapping on the floor and his eyes are narrowed(he's trying to NOT cry). he is either trying his best to quietly hyperventilate or he's just choosing not to breathe for a bit until he can calm himself down.

or he just stands there dissociating with a blank expression.

spiky ginger w/a secret identity? green jacket w/fur? face accessory? earrings? close with a blonde and a pink haired? trauma involves being worked like a slave?

I recognise Tachihara's parents were mostly verbally abusive, however you cannot convince me they weren't also neglectful. Or that they didn't sometimes lock him out of the house or in his room to get him out of the way for something. Or just because he did something they deemed as wrong.

tachihara, after gin & hirotsu are turned into vampires w/the rest of the pm, running out of there and ending up at hirotsu's house. he's in shock and his body is on autopilot, so he goes to hirotsu, because he's scared and he wants his dad hirotsu. when he gets out of shock, he goes back to his apartment and starts pacing.
