A stunning little wasp I saw here in Perth, WA, probably genus Tachytes? Those vibrant green eyes were incredible, and you can tell how adorably tiny this wasp was based on the grains of sand around it.

Tachytes distinctus (F. Smith, 1856); Crabronidae
A female sand-loving wasp. This species is the most common Tachytes in my area. They provision their larvae with grasshoppers.
[ID: A cropped photo showing an insect just lifting into flight, two brown wings outstretched and blurring, with a long black body like a wasp, short antenne, and large green eyes. End ID.]
this is the best picture I got and it doesn’t show the colors correctly. the eyes were bright green it looked fake.
