Thing A Day 2014 - The Leftovers
There were a lot of sketches, half-done, or unused ideas I had last year, but these are the ones that stuck out to me. I'll keep descriptions short, I promise. 1, 2, and 3 are all for DemonInc. The first two I was just thinking of poster ideas, and while the first one was pretty decent I never liked the poses in the second one. They ended up being used for coloring / tone practice instead. 3 is just a take on what an AngelInc. logo would look like, since you can't have one without the other.
4 and 5 are just sketches that stuck out at me. 4 you may recognize as Etna from the Disgaea series of games, while I'm not sure where I was going with 5 - I think maybe he was supposed to be something shark related? I don't actually remember.
6 is a big group shot - I ended up cutting it into sections so it would display properly. I had bits and pieces of this show up in Thing A Day throughout the year but it just never really materialized in a way I was happy with. I may give it another go with a bit more foresight and planning. 7 is the original cover for Monster Heart - I was going to have a collection of chibi-like characters marching across the cover. I ended up going with something else though.
And that's about it! I thought there would be a bit more going into this but I think these are some of the more worthy things of showing that otherwise wouldn't have seen the light of day. 2014 was a bit of an odd year - it started off somewhat rough but it ended pretty well. Here's to hoping for a good start to 2015 leading into a strong finish.
