More thoughts on S-Class Guide Sweet As Honey and its similarities/differences with SCTIR.
The biggest difference between this MC/ML and HJYJ (or SongSung tbh) from what out-of-order bits I've read so far is that in SCTIR, I feel it's not Taewon or Yoojin who would run away from the other like that, they'd be grimly clinging on (in very different ways and with diff mindsets, but still clinging till the end). It would 100% be Hyunje, who would (try to) run away to "die in a corner". (thanks to howl for this unforgettable term)
Also Yoojin definitely never hated or feared Hyunjae. Taewon otoh, may have but at the same time he never feared him for what he might do to Taewon, his fear was entirely based on what HJ being the way he is meant for his own nature.
(Tbh, I feel the case can be made that Song Taewon did actually like him all along, it's just that him being him meant that 'I can't help but kinda like HJ' was just even more reason to be resentful and suspicious of him.)
(Anyway, this is making me reflect on SongSung as a ship instead and the thing is while I do enjoy them I can't see them as anything but fundamentally a doomed ship. Without Yoojin, their point is to be a tragic ship of two people who have no one and nothing else at least getting to die on their own terms in their specific "best case scenario". it works, because it is actually a 'good ending' for both of them - but it's a best of the worst/worst of the best options kinda thing. Not actually a Best Case Scenario. Which does feel more aligned to the vibe of the MC/ML in this ship.)
