if she had to pick. and to be absolutely clear, no one is asking her to pick. but if she had to. the top five list of her past loves goes a little something like this: noh taejoon, yoon jaehyun, so on and so on. it certainly fluctuates even now. rankings dependent on how they act or dress. as if it really matters to anyone now if they styled their hair the way she liked.Â
still, serin liked to keep track. long lasting imprints on your life never fade. even if the love is long gone, what lingers now being nothing beyond residual warmth.Â
but taejoon. taejoon is different. of course, your first is always different. leaves behind something bittersweet, but still lovely. as their friendship never much differed after. at least, they’ve retained a comfortable enough relationship for her to greet him when she does spot him. feet skidding to a small halt with the light smack of her palm against his shoulder.Â
“hey!! did you not see me? i was waving?!” she wasn’t. white lies come all too easy these days. doesn’t matter. she’s excited to see him regardless. given how long it’s been since she last did. “it’s okay, forget it—” i was lying anyway. “did you miss me?” she’s moving a little fast, serin knows. perhaps just driven by the giddy to come with reuniting with an old friend.
she disregards it all the same, scraping the toe of her shoe against the ground in quiet contemplation. then, belatedly, she notes the stacks of paper in his arms.Â
“oh—sorry. do you need help?”
