You know what I hate? When somebody is asked what urban roleplay is, and the person responds out of their ass with a super in-depth para response that basically says nothing but “rpers who use black fc’s” as if they’ve never actually been in an urban rp before. Stop misinforming these people just because you join these (no offense, but offense) lackluster rps, that haven’t broadened their horizons. Next time just direct the person to the urban rpg tag so they can have look for themselves and figure it out on their own. Because I don’t know what rps you join where every faceclaim is black. Yes, black people are popular, but we also use ANY POC, meaning asian, multicultural, hispanic and yes!! We do use white people! Stop misinforming these folks. When someone asks you the differences between urban rp and non-urban, if you cannot list specific differences like writing styles, admin styles, acceptance styles. Then don’t answer, because non-urban rps use popular POC fc’s as well, so that is a similarity. It’s quite annoying when y'all do that. It’s like dumbing us down and saying that we possess no roleplay skills whatsoever. Which reminds me of another thing, answering to someone and saying that we don’t write as well as them… is bullshit. Yes, some YOUNGER urban rps do not write to the best of their ability, and that could just mean that you’re joining the wrong rps, because in the ones I join, we write, we para, and we communicate with gifs. If you’re not gonna tell it right, don’t tell it at all. I’m offended when I see those type of responses, cause we work hard for this shit. That is all.
