I agree that First Light is a masterpiece. But then, anything by inktae is and I think I have mentioned couple of times how much I love her fics (and playlist!) The other fic I thought of as similar in terms of angst, sort-of love triangle but not really, a bit of supernatural/fantasy is one of my ultimate favorites that also made me cry so hard (in a good way) and I just couldn’t move on after reading it:

I said it before but the intricate dreams (JK) intertwined with reality (Taehyung) should’ve been difficult to pull off given the switching of real to “fantasy” or alternate world. It’s just a masterpiece how the author pulled it off without making the whole switching confusing. It’s kind of based on Kimi No Nawa (Your Name) too (one of Jungkook’s favorite movies!!). I just remember staring into space after reading because I need a moment before I can move on from the fic 😅. It’s just that good. So please give it a try too!

Weekly Fanfic Recommendations: Best of 2017

so we have another year that is ending oh so soon. oh my, the year passed by so fast and honestly, i couldn't even keep up with everything as much lmao. bangtan has accomplished so much, and i could never have felt any more happier than i am now!!

honestly, the year was tough for me as i ended my junior college, taking my national exams and thinking about university but hey, the year has finally ended!! and i hope for it to end on a good note while i am actually sick whoops.

bangtan has achieved so much, numerous daesangs, with yoongi winning an award for producing, bangtan going to the AMAs with their US debut, winning at BBMAs, topping charts, with international collabs, i’ve never felt so happy and proud to support and stan them.

but anyway, since a lovely anon requested for this, a best of 2017 fic rec to end the year, here it is!! it will consist of all member x y/n fics, will specify if they are one shots, series, or collab etc! these will be my all time-favs of this year! do enjoy~

Your post about non-smut writers really makes me happy because as a writer who writes solely non-smut, I have gotten asks from people who told me I'd get a bigger audience if I wrote smut, which annoyed me, but there were also several people who thanked me for showing that they don't need to force themselves to write smut. It is quite disheartening to hear that others think that way and force themselves to write something they're uncomfortable with. So thank you so much for addressing the issue!

ahh it makes me very happy you understood the meaning of my post! and yes, I agree with everything you’ve said. smut should be a genre like any other - something to enjoy if you feel like it, not something so many people should feel forced to pretend to enjoy because of the huge pressure in our community. no need to thank me, thank you for supporting it! ^^

“Aw, come on. It’s not like we haven’t shared a bed bef–”

The Fires Within

Wherever he is, he hates it.

It’s too bright, it’s too stinky, and although he actually still can’t see much, he can already tell it’s too cramped. Yoongi tries to control his breathing, unwilling to inhale any more of the room’s strange-smelling air than he has to. It reeks of old Ionian grannies and unwashed weave, something that drives him absolutely crazy because the odor is so stagnant and stale and blech.

And then there’s the wires, or whatever the fuck is stuck both on and in him. Yoongi grunts and, through the narrow vision of extremely squinted eyes, locates each of the damned things and methodically rips them out.

not sure if i understood the “five lines” thing correctly, so the first one was just 5 lines of dialogue and the second was 5 sentences lmAO
