I mean it with my whole chest when I say I've never seen ONE convincing or valid piece of criticism from the HB critical community. Maybe from actual objective parties, but not yall.

Even SU critical was on (very) rare occasions legitimately constructive and valid. Yall are just goofy nitpickers that are mad the story didn't go the exact way you wanted it to.

levi isn't mean. he just tells it like it is and is blunt. he has really high empathy and cares so much about others. he isn't mean like you think

who's gonna tell anon that being mean and being caring can be things a person possesses simultaneously. I'm not pulling up examples of him being mean bc i shouldnt have to, but he is mean. he says it himself. he's bristly and off-putting. he's lowkey nasty at times and is hard to talk to. this isn't and shouldn't be a deal breaker for enjoying his character and liking him. it doesn't matter if he's intentionally mean. he still is whether it's purposeful or not. and that's fine. let a character loaded with positive qualities have flaws. it adds significantly to his depth.

also I'm taking empathy arguments away from yall bc it's such a nothing burger. it actually pisses me off we're still using the empathy equated to goodness bs in the year of our lord 2024. anyone can possess empathy. not saying Levi doesn't use it for good but lacking empathy doesn't measure the quality of your character ffs

Levi is so overrated and such a mid character. I just don't get the hype around him. There are so many other characters that are better than him. Maybe prior to season 4 he had potential, but after the time-skip he’s treated as an after thought. Y’all try to make him sound deeper than he actually is. Y’all act like he is one of the best characters ever and not just the same bland clichè dark but cool op anime character that he is. Take away his fight scenes and he’s nothing. “But he’s kind and has a good heart!” So do so many other characters including the clichéd ones he represents. He was ruined post time skip and had nothing important to add to the plot at all. Barely there. He has no interesting thoughts, motivations, or insights. No character development. He’s seriously in competition for worst written character ever. He should have died at the end. His ending sucks. You can tell by the reaction of anime onlys that they didnt think his ending was all that.

If you were not ashamed, you would even say that Levi is a jerk who commits selfish actions (which he is not). You are no different from people who say that Levi is physically ugly and has strange features, but portray Levi and their favorites as gods. Ehh you're a typical eruris.

So you're making assumptions because I'm stating something that's just a canonical fact and putting words you think I'd potentially say in my mouth? Yall get so defensive over this fictional dude and for what? He doesn't need this many shooters he's THE most popular AOT character.

And it's really telling that you're including in these other negative attributes you apparently think I believe he has when I personally don't even consider being kinda mean a negative thing at all. He isn't cruel, he isn't malicious, he's just prickly. And that's okay. He's just not a nice character. There's so many other good qualities he possesses, but the moment someone points out a single "flaw" he actually has, yall go bananas.

Oh and I'm a multishipper, not an eruris or whatever. It's kind of silly to use a pairing I enjoy to try to insult me? As if a ship has some separate fandom or whatever lol. And if it does have some separate offshoot fandom, I literally don't care enough about the ship (or any aot ship tbh) to be part of it lmaoo.
