I Was Lost Until I Found Me In You

Simon was happy with his life. At 25 he had a fairly successful music career, co-owned a business, and was surrounded by a loving family. He never felt like anything was missing, until one night he met a stranger and everything changed.

Wille was content being single. He was content to focus on figuring out how to be a better King than his mother was Queen, he was content to stay out of the public eye, he was content to focus on trying to figure out how to be both Wille and the Crown Prince; the night Simon pulled him into his dressing room, everything changed.

This is an AU that takes place when Wille and Simon are 25. Simon never went to Hillerska and they never met. They meet and have a passionate, fiery, one-night stand and that is the end of it, at least that is what they both intended to have happen.

Chapter 1-Simon's POV-Simon and Wille meet for the first time.

Chapter 2-Wille's POV-Wille and Simon meet for the first time.

Chapter 3-Simon's POV-Simon goes to Kaleidoscope Hearts and asks Wille to meet up again.

Chapter 4-Wille's POV-After their second night together, and after staying, Wille talks to his friends about Simon and what he wants to do with his future.

Chapter 5-Simon's POV-Simon does some thinking, some talking with his family, and Wille shows up at Azul's Treasures.

Chapter 6-No POV-Texting exchanges between Simon and Wille during Willes work trip.

*NEW* Chapter 7-Wille's POV-Wille and Simon go on their date. Several revelations take place.

Chapter 7 is a new one, and it is a doozy!! I am very excited and also mildly terrified for y'all to read this one 🙈 I really hope you guys like it!!

I would love to hear your analysis of Willes pining/decision montage in the beginning episode 3 ☺️

Hi! Did I go back and rewatch that montage just for this ask? Why yes, yes I did.

And here is what I came up with:

Ok, first we see him walking alone. He's kicking leaves. He's throwing sticks. He's staring at the ground. We can't see his face, but his body language suggests that he's upset and/or frustrated. Probably with himself. Definitely with the situation. Because he wanted to keep being friends with Simon, but Simon cut him off (valid) and now he doesn't know what to do. Because he wants Simon back.

There are a few shots of him watching Simon in class. One from the back of the room, where he has easy access to stare at Simon. One from the front of the room where he fully has to turn around to look at him. In the one it seems like he's debating if he wants to talk to him. To see if there's anything else he can say to save the friendship. In the other, it looks like he's realized Simon definitely doesn't want to talk to him. That there is no friendship left to save. That there might never have been a strict friendship to begin with.

There are shots of him restless in bed. One where he's hugging himself, which is a method to soothe his anxiety that we see throughout the series. So he's clearly very anxious about whatever he's thinking about with Simon. He wants Simon back. He's absolutely restless without that sense of connection that they had.

He's scrolling through Simon's Instagram. He's looking at not only pictures of Simon, but of Simon's life. His friends. His sister. He could scroll quickly past the pictures that Simon's not in, but he doesn't. He looks at all the pictures. He wants to be a part of Simon's life. He doesn't just want Simon. He wants it all.

And then at the very end of the montage, Wille catches two of his classmates making out. A boy and a girl. A straight couple like the one he's supposed to have. But his mind flashes back to Simon. To his first kiss with Simon. To the moment right before they kissed and Simon's nervous expression. And he has to look away from the couple because he realizes that he doesn't want that.

He doesn't want to be in the perfect straight relationship. He doesn't want to be kissing a girl. He wants to be kissing Simon. He'd rather do mess with Simon than easy with someone he doesn't care about. And he, like, literally almost runs away from that realization. We see him realize it, and then he immediately turns around and walks away.

So that is my analysis of that montage. I hope it was satisfactory.

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome beautiful person! It brings me so much joy that you have found your way here :) My obsession with, and deep love for YR is just continuing to grow; I figured I would introduce myself a little more properly to y'all! You can call me Rambo :) I'm in my 30's and use she/her pronouns. I am very proudly queer; I don't define myself past that! You can read my much more rambling introduction below if you are interested!

I sort of just stumbled upon YR and it has brought so much joy and excitement and creativity back into my life. Everything about YR is so beautiful, so thoughtful, so lovingly done; I just want to always be surrounded by its warmth. YR gave me so many thoughts and feelings, I didn’t want to contain them anymore; welcome to where they have found their home!

***Update*** YR has truly unlocked something in me and has continued to inspire me to write. I have several fics now, so please check them out if you are interested! They are true works of love, and something I am incredibly proud of 🫀

No One Else Can Break My Heart Like You is my first fic and is completed. It is canon compliant post Season 1; it was written before the release of Season 2. It is a story about Simon and Wille finding their way back together and how music binds them together and holds them while they are apart. Each chapter alternates POV between Wille and Simon. I have also broken apart this story into two parts; Wille's POV only and Simon's POV only.

I Play For Keeps And I Don't Lose is a fic exploring some missing moments between Episode 5 and Episode 6 of Season 2. It is just 2 chapters, Simon's POV and Wille's POV.

When I Live My Dream, I'll Take You With Me is my current WIP. It is a canon compliant Season 2 fic depicting some missing moments as well as a lot of introspection. Each chapter alternates POV's between Wille and Simon.
